have 6-1 Guard/Forward Kelsey Adrian formerly of Cal-Berkley in for a
visit
this weekend.

of New Mexico head coach
Don Flanagan
announced the signing of
Chinyere (Chin YOU ary) Nnaji (Ni GEE) to a National Letter of Intent
today. Nnaji, a 6-foot guard out of Plano, Texas, will join the UNM women's basketball
program
in the fall of 2009.
"She
is a true
defender and a player with an extreme upside,” said Flanagan. “She
consistently
plays hard and is very athletic with great speed. She is a great
compliment to our team and could have an immediate impact."
Nnaji
recently
completed her prep career at Plano
Senior High School where she averaged 13.7 points, 8.1
rebounds,
1.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game as a senior. Nnaji, who was
coached
by Lynn Meger, was a three-year starter for the Wildcats and received
numerous
accolades. She was a three-time All District selection including
first
team honors as a freshman and sophomore. She was named the
Newcomer of
the Year her freshman season and earned All-Tournament honors as a
sophomore in
the Fort Worth Lions Tournament.
Nnaji signed with
UNM over Oklahoma State, Oklahoma,
Arkansas State, Lamar, Stephen F. Austin and Kansas State.
Nnaji is the fourth
signee for the Lobos and will join Caroline Durbin, Jourdan Erkskine
and Emily
Starks this fall at New
Mexico.
