Here is Wes' final podcast from the 2009 Lobo
football scrimmage:
Every practice session either spring or fall
TheRedMenace.com has it’s always popular Eye Out for players. The “eye”
doesn’t
guarantee a starting spot or even playing time. All it is a list of
players
that we here at TheRedMenace.com have noticed during the session. With
that
here is whom the “eye” has fallen on this fall camp.
Quarterback-
BR Holbrook
BR is the guy many thought would transfer after spring ball
this year. Instead the RS-Fr shocked many folks by moving up the depth
chart in
week 2. Not sure if he has held onto the #2 spot at this time, but he
has an
excellent touch with the ball, and a year of experience might be all he
needs.
Close second Donovan Porterie
Running
Back- %%MATCH_5%%
From Camp Day 1 this fall it was obvious that Double D is a
player. His talent and play on the field should have Lobo fans
drooling.
According to Demond himself he has to work on QB protection and in my
opinion
has been the starter since week 2.
Wide
Receiver- D. Jones… Who? D. Jones…
#5
%%MATCH_10%% caught our eye from Day 1 and he has never
looked back…
Jones is the player that I believe will benefit the most from the
change of coaching staffs this year and we look for a big year from
him…
Besides anyone that is familiar with the music of “%%MATCH_12%%”
understands the
spoof of D. Jones… Who? D. Jones…
Close second Bryant Williams
Offensive
Line
OG-Joshua
Taufalele
He not only has the hair that those of us at The Red Menace
love, but he is a flat out beast on field. He is consistent and I just
love
watching him play
Close second--- Can’t decide so %%MATCH_14%% and %%MATCH_11%%
Defensive Line
DE
DeAndre Davis
Coming off of an injury over spring Davis came out this fall
possessed and looking to destroy QB’s and running backs. He is
definitely a
cornerstone of a solid defensive line rotation.
Close second- Jonathan Rainey
Linebacker-
%%MATCH_7%%
Dude flat out is
nasty. His hitting is nasty. His ball
hawking ability is nasty. He exudes nastiness and loves to hit people.
Can’t
think of a better combination for a linebacker
Close second: Carmen Messina
Safety
Hey
Bubba… as in %%MATCH_6%%, injury to %%MATCH_13%% really
allowed Bubba more reps and all he did was make the most of it. #28
seemed to
be in my camera lens and mind more than any other player this entire
fall.
Close second: Frankie Solomon
Cornerback-
%%MATCH_8%% (in red)- This was the toughest position to single out
as young guys were working hard to pick up their assignments. Hooks
really
separated himself this past scrimmage with the bone jarring hit in the
stadium.
He has the most experience and was the DB we noticed the most
Close second %%MATCH_9%%
So
the 2009 fall camp is over and now the Lobos move into
preparing for %%MATCH_15%% A&M and the rest of the 2009 season.
The
entire staff of TheRedMenace.com would like to thank
Coach Locksley and his entire staff plus the Lobo football player for
really
going out of their way to make us feel at home, answer all our
questions, and
of course for the sacrifices they make on and off the field. All props
go out
to the guys as they make going out there and doing what we do so
enjoyable.
We hope

year as well are considering joining us for the 2009 Lobo football
