After two years of battling to get into the
University of
New Mexico, working hard to get academics squared away, going through
an
assistant coaching change, waiting for the NCAA Clearinghouse, and
finally
attending UNM and then working out with his future team… UNM Coach
Steve Alford
in a release today said that 21 year old freshmen Isaiah Rusher has
been shown
the door due to personal reasons.
Rusher
whose unrealistic praises have been sung by Lobo fans
for the past two years gave the entire state a jolt when the NCAA
clearinghouse
cleared him just two weeks ago. Hard to believe that what two years to
build
was torn down in two weeks.

Here
is the official release from UNM:
University
of New Mexico men's head basketball coach Steve Alford
announced that
freshman Isaiah Rusher has left the program for personal
reasons. Rusher, a
6-foot-9,
235-pound forward, originally signed a National Letter
of Intent with UNM in November
of 2007. He enrolled at UNM in June after gaining academic
eligibility.
Isaiah
needed to go home to Houston and take care of some personal issues,"
said
Alford. "We wish him the best and hope that he is able to get
things
taken care of."
