Rocky Long speaks with the local media as his team prepares for BYU.

The Rock met up with local media like he does every week to talk about the past game and upcoming game. With the Lobos heading out to Provo UT Coach Long talked a lot about the Lobos upcoming chances at victory…

Let me set the stage for you all. Starting out Coach Long was asked how much longer he planned on staying on as a coach. Rest easy Rocky Long fans… Coach Long said he wasn’t planning on going anywhere soon!

Also today Rocky talked candidly about his quarterbacks and keys to victory over BYU and what can happen if those keys aren’t met.

Also later in the interview Rocky talks about how the fans had an effect on last Saturday’s game vs. Wyoming.

One thing I’m not sure made it on the recording was Rocky saying, that in his 10 years at UNM he has never seen a team as physically beat up as this year’s team. The lack of a bye week hurt this team, as did the pre-season schedule. Rocky did say that it has seriously changed the way his team has prepared for games, the intensity and approach to practice.

I’ve always said that talking to Coach Long is a treat. The guy has great stories from his days as a player at UNM to his days in the CFL.
