The 2007 Lobo football banquet was Thursday night. It was a
chance to celebrate another great season of Lobo football. A season that finds
the Lobos with an 8-4 record, another invitation to the New Mexico Bowl vs.
Nevada, a record of all-MWC honorees, an All-American kicker, and a team that
is arguably one of the best of all time in New Mexico With that the Lobos players left their jerseys in the locker
room and were looking oh so sweet for the banquet to honor their
accomplishments.

annual Red Menace Fan Appreciation Award. This award is given to a senior that
has always been there for the fans. A player that goes above and beyond not
just on the field, but off the field, a player that loves being a Lobo, and

This year’s choice was the hardest to
make ever as there were so many deserving seniors this year. We went round and
round with this and finally settled on the two players that for years led the
Lobo Leap and were always there for the fans! We are proud to announce that the
2007 Red Menace Fan Appreciation Award went to WR Travis Brown and WR Marcus Smith.
I know the Lobo football team will miss these two guys and as fans that run
this website and The Red Menace they will be greatly missed by all of us here
on the website.

Congratulations to all the young men that have
won awards this year. We appreciate all the hard work and dedication that you
