2007-’08… The Alford Era has begun!
A guesstimated 4,000 plus showed up for Friday night’s annual Lobo Howl,
as Lobo fans who have been disappointed with recent performances of the men’s
hoops team wanted to come to the hallowed Pit and welcome new Lobo Basketball
Coach Steve Alford and his staff as well as give the newcomers to the Lobo hoops
program a little taste of life in “The Pit”!

Look whose back. Back again. Flan is back, tell your
friends!
Part of that 4,000 plus also showed up to celebrate another year of Lobo
women’s hoops as Coach Flanagan has brought in 5 freshmen and a transfer of his
own as the women look to remain as the elite program in the MWC.

Rather than try and write a report we put together some audio and video
files for you all to download and listen to as well as watch. We hope you enjoy
watching as much as we had taping and putting it all together as we look forward
to another spectacular year of Lobo hoops. Thanks to Mike (he doesn't want his
last name released. It is an anonymous thing I guess) for this year's Howl

Also our own Wes Henderson was out at the Lobo
Howl getting some audio from men and women's players. The Tony Danridge
interview is really quick, but Tony's spirits were up and he is already working
hard in hopes of playing this season.

To close out the
portion of this story, TheRedMenace.com learned last night that Lakes HS (Ft.
Lewis WA) guard Sara Halasz has given her verbal to the University of New Mexico
women's basketball team. Wes spoke with Sara a couple of weeks ago during her
visit. If you would like to see this story click here!
