Went out to practice this morning.
Lobos are in preparation mode for the trip to Laramie to face the
red-hot Cowboys.
The first half of practice took
place in the IPF as the Lobos will be on the turf this weekend. The second half
of practice was outside on the practice fields. Mostly first team offense facing
and simulated Wyoming defense and the first-team "d" facing a
simulated Wyoming offense.

Can't really say someone looked
good or stood out, it was more like I was watching them study for a test.
Practice, practice, practice. Repetition was the
word...
One thought while watching the
defense practice.
If "Got Syrup" is the "underground"
Red Menace catch phase for the offense lineman while they are flippin' pancakes,
then I will submit this for the" underground" Red Menace catch phase for the
defense.
"GET THERE!" That is the constant
drumbeat pounded out by the defense coaches while the Lobos are scrimmaging
against the simulated Wyoming offense, or any other defense. "GET
THERE!" is what the swarming Lobo defense is all about...getting to the ball en
masse. All 11 players surrounding the ball carrier, with no
escape.
"GET
THERE!" I want that T-shirt.
