Lobo seniors and starters
RB Crusoe Gongbay and CB SaQuan Edwards have both been reinstated by Coach
Bob Davie and VP Paul Krebs.
Gongbay and Edwards (pictured to the left) were
arrested in April on rape and kidnapping charges. In June the case had been dropped but left open
to a possible refiling of charges, and today it has been
reported that the DA will drop the case completely allowing Gonbay and Edwards to
join the Lobo football team currently practicing in Ruidoso
Gongbay along with Edwards and a third student
maintained their innocence during the whole process and on
Tuesday Gongbay fired off a tweet about his reinstatement.
After missing all of the summer conditioning
program along with half of this year's fall camp, it hasn't been
discussed by Coach Bob Davie publicly where Gongbay and Edwards will
start as far as the depth chart is concerned.
"Ya Boy is back. They cant stop Gods work. Gota make up for
lost time but it is still money season."
Both seniors have charges dropped and are headed to rejoin the Lobo football team in Ruidoso.
