The JUCO recruiting world has recently been ablaze with the name
. Justin current numbers are 6-9 245lb down from
the 270lbs. he came into the season with at Missouri State
University West Plains.
"Justin has spent the past 5 years with the Texas Rangers
organization," said Asst. Coach Bryan Bender. "He is playing himself
into shape as the season progresses, he is such a hard worker that
just keeps getting better."
And D-I colleges have stepped up and are taking notice as Jameson
holds offer from New Mexico
, Pitt, Kent St., Texas Tech
, and others are coming in. "The other night I had a double
double and I picked up three offers (New Mexico, Oregon, and Pitt),"
said Jamison. "There are so many letters coming in every day, coach
and I were just looking at the pile of them."
According to Coach Bender, "Justin is unbelievably skilled
offensively from the outside in, he just keeps getting better. JUCO
recruiting is a little different than the HS recruiting in that most
recruiting takes place during the second half of the season. Justin
was a hidden gem to start the season as a few schools and low level
D-I schools were taking a look, but everyone knows about him now,
and there are a lot of schools coming to see and offer him now."
One thing I noticed in interviewing Justin Jamison is that he is
very polished and is really taking the time to enjoy this season of
basketball before getting to caught up in the whirlwind of
recruiting that has started as schools vie for this mature big man,
don't wait for a quick decision though as Justin assured us that he
is going to concentrate and enjoy this season of basketball. Once
the season is over he said, "I will sit down with my coaches,
grandfather, and my parents and take a look."
After spending 5 years playing professional baseball a go with the Texas Rangers' Organization Justin Jamison went back to school and resumed his basketball career.
