DC Jeff Mills Let Go

Defense can't give up 516 offensive yards and 513 points and changes not be made.

Four weeks ago Coach Bob Davie made the announcement on his weekly post game show after surrendering 66 points, 649 yards, and 35 first downs to Colorado State that he was going to make a "schematic change" to his defense at the University of New Mexico.  The following weeks  UNM surrendered 69 points 822 points to Fresno St. and 45 points and 432 points to Boise St. and Davie kept talking about "schematic change" it should come as no surprise that today Coach Davie announced that defensive coordinator Jeff Mills will not be coming back next season.

University of New Mexico defensive coordinator/defensive backs coach Jeff Mills will not return for the 2014 football season, head coach Bob Davie announced Saturday.

“I appreciate the contribution Jeff made to Lobo Football as we continue to rebuild this program,” Davie said.  “Jeff is one of the smartest and hardest working coaches I have ever been around.  I wish him well and know he will continue to have success in college football.”
