Santa Maria (Calif.) Allan Hancock College running back Cameron Artis-Payne committed to Auburn on Thursday at a ceremony held at the college.

Artis-Payne, who also was considering Utah and Washington, visited the Tigers' campus last weekend, which sealed the deal.

After a few words on Artis-Payne and his football journey from Hancock Athletic Director Sue Ensing, Dr. Elizabeth Miller, the college's President, and head football coach Kris Dutra, the running back took to the podium.

"Without further ado, I'll announce my decision," he said, pulling out an Auburn hat. "I'll be an Auburn Tiger next year. War Eagle."

In 2012, with one game still left to play, the talented back is already the state leader in both touchdowns (23) and in rushing yards per game, with 204. This season, he's also broken four school records: most touchdowns in a season (23 to date), career touchdowns (41-the previous record was 29), rushing yards in a season (1,838 to date), and rushing yards in a career (currently at 3,202).
